Marcus Bastel is a writer and photographer based in London. He specialises in rural and urban landscapes and architectures.
He studied fine art in Sheffield, UK and at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam, NL.
His pictures often depict an abscence and quietly convey a story, while his stories are about people. There is a certain fascination of the man made, but this does not always mean manufactured object. Some images we see of landscapes have a man made quality because we know those through the media. And media is man made, creating a memory that does not exist.
His work is with Millennium Images and Plainpictures and he is represented by Anoukh Foerg Literary Agency.
